Sales Executive

Key responsibilities
- Generate new wholesale and trade accounts.
- Build relationships with cafés, coffee shops, farm shops, delicatessens, garden centres, independent retailers, hospitality businesses and distributors.
- Develop existing accounts to maximise sales opportunities.
- Manage the full sales process from initial enquiry through to onboarding.
- Arrange customer visits and product presentations, prepare quotations and follow up opportunities.
- Maintain an accurate CRM database and sales pipeline.
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Identify new product listings and seasonal promotions.
- Work with Marketing on campaigns and product launches.
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions and networking events.
- Monitor competitors and market trends.
- Report weekly on pipeline activity, performance and forecasts.
- Deliver outstanding service before and after the sale.
How performance is measured
- New customer accounts opened.
- Monthly sales revenue and gross profit.
- Customer retention and average order value.
- Quote conversion rate and sales pipeline value.
- Customer visit and call activity.
- Customer satisfaction.
Essential skills and experience
- Previous sales or business-development experience.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confident telephone manner and face-to-face presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, target-driven and highly organised.
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable experience
- Selling food or FMCG products.
- Knowledge of the wholesale food industry.
- Working with independent retailers or hospitality businesses.
- Using CRM software.

Working hours
